Ms. Haynes has special expertise in the field of drug prevention at the local, state, national and international levels, and is a frequent speaker on the topic of drugs for adults and youth. She is Special Advisor of the Drug Free America Foundation, a member of the Global Institute on Drug Policy, past President of Drug Watch International. She is a former member of the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse appointed by Governor George Bush; is past Chairman of the Board of Texans War on Drugs, a statewide drug prevention organization, and has served on the State Advisory Board of the Southwest Regional Center for Drug-Free Schools and Communities and is a member of the Texas Summit Committee for Drug Prevention. She served as Legislative Chairman of the Governor of Texas’ Task Force on Drug Abuse, and was invited to attend the White House Conference for a Drug-Free America and was Texas Networker for the National Federation of Parents for Drug-Free Youth and helped to initiate the Red Ribbon Drug Prevention Campaign in Texas. Ms. Haynes is past Board President of The Drug Prevention Network of the Americas, a coalition of Non-Governmental Drug Prevention Organizations from North and South America, and in this capacity has coordinated a number of international drug demand conferences. She is a board member of SOS-Save Our Society from Drugs. Currently, she is an executive member of Citizens for 1 Greater New Orleans, working for the recovery of the city of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina, who has been cited with a number of recognitions and awards for this work. She is also an ambassador for Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans.
