Bolivia

Since 2002, two Forjando Liderazgo events have been conducted in Bolivia, impacting an estimated 175 participants, media professionals and their communities. As a direct result of these events, in the city of Cochabamba, a coalition of journalists in favor of drug demand reduction practices and principles was begun, and in spite of political adversities, many of those journalists still communicate with each other, exchanging drug related issues and information on a regular basis. The Bolivian Academy for Drug Prevention (Academia Boliviana de Dependencias) was launched on November 27, 2006.

• A Forjando Liderazgo event was held for approximately 150 participants in Cochabamba, Bolivia on May 4-6, 2005. Local partners were CESE and the US Embassy in Bolivia.

• A Forjando Liderazgo event was held for 25 journalists in Cochabamba, Bolivia on October 27-29, 2006. This event was in conjunction with PIAS and the US Embassy in Bolivia. As a direct result of this event, the Bolivian Academy for Drug Prevention (Academia Boliviana de Dependencias) was launched on November 27, 2006.
